Students

Student ministry at Providence is a fun and engaging ministry where students in grades 6 through 12 come together for fellowship, discipleship, and to study God's word.  Students meet each Wednesday night @ 6:30 p.m. Student ministry at Providence is entertaining, and plently of lively opportunities for adventure throughout the year.  Come join us and experience all that God has to offer here at Providence!

Our vision at Providence is to see our students mature into faithful followers of Jesus Christ. To that end we embrace a 4G vision:

  • Gospel - The good news of Jesus Christ, who came into the world to save sinners through his death on the cross. We are saved and made right with God by faith in this finished work and not by anything we accomplish. This is the foundation of all we do.
    • Romans 5:6-8, You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
  • Grace - All that we have from God comes as free gift by His grace. We are not saved by works and we do not earn God's favor. All strength and gifts that we have to serve him are gifts of His grace.
    • Romans 3:23-24, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
  • Growth - As we embrace the Gospel and lean heavily on His grace we want to see students grow in their ability to follow Jesus and become faithful disciples.
    • Hebrews 6:1, "Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God"
  • Go - Mature followers sent out into the world to make disciples is the ultimate goal. Ultimately we want to be able to go out and spread the good news with others.
    • Matthew 28:18-20, "Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
